Polar Bear wildflowers I painted this image mainly

I painted this image mainly to help myself memorize the traits and names of the five most common junco races that return to Colorado each fall

I saw mariposa flowers scattered widely in many places in the foothills where I had never noticed them in previous years

I see flocks of them most often in fall after their young have fledged and always wonder what sort of mischief they are up to

one may spot a kingfisher before it takes off

these native wildflowers brighten the landscape throughout the spring and summer
