'The Crossing' is both a self portrait and an interpretation of a childs journey from her country of birth to her new homeland and adulthood. The expression on the young girl's face is deliberately enigmatic. Is she looking back to see her grandparents who have been left behind? Or is she enthralled by new vistas?
